Malek National Library and Museum has survived, as many other such institutions, the upheavals of history. Its vast manuscript collection has survived since antiquity major invasions such as the different invasions of Central Asia and the Mongol conquests. Today it is unfortunate to see statements by leaders who ignore the basic laws voted and passed by international organizations such as the Geneva Protocole of 12 August 1949 or the laws passed by the UNESCO on 14 May 1954 or the convention agreed upon in 1972 that condemned all threat or infringement to the cultural heritage of any country.Malek National Library and Museum is Condemning the US Presidential Threat to Attack Iranian Cultural Sites and calls on all cultural institutions in the world, especially museums and large libraries, to respond with appropriate responses
It would be a good lesson to look at a person like Hajj Hossein Agha Malek who put his own private fortune and knowledge into such a magnificent collection of Iranian as well as global treasures and offered it the public irrespective of nationality or origin.
